SPI regularly provides grants for projects which fit its approach. SPI will provide funds to create or develop local businesses whose success is tied to the preservation of vulnerable cultural heritage. Any proposed projects must have local support and have all necessary permissions. Consistent with its focus on “people not stones”, SPI will not fund conservation, except as incident to enhancing the local business. For example, SPI might fund a small amount of conservation in order to enhance a site’s touristic experience. All projects receiving funding from SPI will be expected to collect evaluative data regarding both business and preservation results.
For projects in Peru applications are considered biannually on 15th February and 15th August. Please contact us prior to these dates to discuss your application. There are no deadlines for applications from any other country. If you are interested in applying for funds from SPI please first contact us at email@example.com.
